The natural light coming into the restaurant gave me the ideal tonal range. Pair that with the rich saturation of the elements in the restaurant, and I got an image that really pops.

This was my attempt at photographic chiaroscuro. The intense black background with the soft tonal changes across the planes of the subject face and sharp focus on the eyes created a bold portrait.
